Wellness & Nervous System Support
Chronic pain is closely connected to the nervous system. Practices that encourage relaxation and safety in the body can support the process of recovery and improve body awareness. Reiki may help shift the body toward a more relaxed state, which can make movement, rehabilitation, and pain management strategies more effective.
What is Reiki?
A gentle energy-based practice that supports nervous system regulation and overall well-being
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing and relaxation technique that supports the body’s natural ability to rest, recover, heal and regulate the nervous system. During a Reiki session, the practitioner uses light touch or hands placed just above the body to create a calm and supportive environment for healing.
While Reiki is not a replacement for medical treatment, it can be a helpful complement to physical therapy and other wellness practices. Many people find that Reiki sessions help reduce stress, ease tension, and promote a deeper sense of relaxation—especially when living with chronic pain.
Reiki has been practiced worldwide for over a century and is used in a variety of wellness settings, including hospitals, hospice care, and integrative health programs.

What Makes Rooted Recovery Different?
At Rooted Recovery Physical Therapy & Wellness, I work with people who feel stuck in a cycle of persistent pain despite doing “all the right things.”
Rather than focusing only on the painful area, we look at the whole system that influences pain and recovery, including:
• the nervous system
• movement patterns
• stress and recovery
• sleep quality
• activity tolerance
Using modern pain science and movement-based rehabilitation, we work together to gradually rebuild confidence in your body and help you return to the activities you love.
Traditional physical therapy often focuses only on the injured area. At Rooted Recovery, care is integrative and personalized, addressing all of the factors that contribute to persistent pain.
